Now…. Instagram, I am trying it, i joined last year but never really took to it. It feels like the lovechild of Facebook and Twitter, only prettier. So far I am finding lots of food pictures and duck-face selfies, with a huge dash of insecure girls posting images of their bodies to gain ‘self confidence’.
Am I cynical?
Perhaps.
The difficulty with social media is that young people can decide to be who they want to be within the realms of a boundary-less virtual environment. The social norm is distorted in a place where deviants are rife.
Give me a month or so and I will probably love it….. I am lucyshires on Instagram, original huh!
